EMAIL PROBLEMS
Mail send to feedback@ibgames.com is sometimes getting through, and sometimes not. If you send something and it bounces back, resend it to feedback@ibgames.com which always works.
RESTORATION
I have made a start on restoring the characters of those who have sent me the details, but it is a very slow process and getting through everyone who has emailed so far is going to take several days. By the time you read this there will probably be more emails in the queue, as well, so please be patient!
I am starting with the planet-owners, since getting some planets open and operating is the most important thing. Then I'll do the company-owning ranks, who can start building on the planets, and finally the lower ranks.
ACCIDENTAL MOGULS
Not everything went smoothly with the first set of POs I bumped up to Founder. They still had their ship loans, and when they tried to buy new ships they were told they had to pay the loans off. Unfortunately, a bug meant that paying the loan off bumped them up to Mogul, regardless of the status of their builds!
Bella is going to fix this tomorrow by putting all the planet-owners - Engineers and Moguls - back down to Founder. If you did mean to promote, all you need to do is use the 'PROMOTE' command again.
She is also going to remove the outstanding loan from any POs that still have it, and in future when I bump players up the ranks it's going to pay off the loan at the same time.
BEST STAY A FOUNDER
I do recommend that for the time being you stick at Founder level, because until I restore some of the Indies and Manus, your population is going to be unemployed which will cause disaffection at higher ranks.
If you suffered from this because of the accidental Mogul problem, put in a claim for your losses.
FENDING OFF THE TAXMAN
I have been handing out such huge sums of money so that Founders can do all the builds they used to have, that the taxman has been rubbing his hands with glee. When Bella reset the game yesterday, he took in a huge amount of money and was laughing all the way to the bank!
I am pleading with his to stop being such a greedy pig and let everyone off their taxes for a few weeks... we'll see if he agrees! Meanwhile, if you get taxed and lose some of the compensation I gave you, put in another claim.
RESETS
Right now, the automatic resets are not happening so the game is not shutting down every morning. Bella is manually resetting the game when she needs to put new code in.
