BUGFEST DELAYED
by Hazed
I was planning to write a news story at the last minute telling you what happened at this weekend’s BugFest. I hoped I’d be able to announce that Alan had found it very useful, and now had a handle on the crashes, and expected to fix them imminently.
But I can’t - because BugFest has been delayed by 24 hours, and will now start at the reset today, Sunday October 21.
So if anything exciting comes out of it, I’ll send out a special bulletin tomorrow; otherwise I’ll write a report for next week’s Star.
To remind you what BugFest is all about...
It’ll all start at the reset (approx 8.00am eastern). When the game comes back up, it will be in “No Save” mode which means nothing you do will be saved permanently.
During the course of the day, Alan will be asking players to do various things to try make the game crash, with the aim of gathering enough information to finally stomp on the crash bug.
Then at Sunday’s reset, the backups from the previous day will be put in, so the 24 hour period from reset to reset will be wiped, as if it never happened. It will all be a dream...
As well as helping us to stomp bugs, it’s another chance for you to visit those risky places you are afraid to go, like the Martian ruins or Earth’s wilderness area. Or you can try your hand (or equivalent) at bungee jumping off the roof of the Galactic Administration HQ (only a small chance of death, honest), or even try to solve the notoriously dangerous Graveyard puzzle.
Everyone who takes part in BugFest will receive a special award to commemorate their participation.
Have fun helping us fix bugs!
